Here are a couple of pictures from the game on Saturday. It was the Devils home opener. When we left the game there was about five minutes left in the third and Worcester was up 4-2. The final score was 5-4 Worcester. We missed a bit of a come back. Oh well.
We saw the obligatory opening night pyrotechnic display that fills the entire building with smoke and makes it hard for anyone to see anything on the ice for the the first period or so.
The Worcester Sharks only needed 43 seconds to take the lead.
We didn't sit in the old season ticket seats. We got seats near center ice, behind the Devils bench. Much closer than usual, but a few obstructed spots.
This guy went to school with me. Sort of. Ben Walter was a top scorer for the UMass Lowell Riverhawks during the time I had my radio show and DJ Deena and I had Riverhawks coach Blaise McDonald on the show for 30 minutes a week. Walter also used to play for the Bruins.
The first home-game-fight of the season. Somehow Lowell was stuck with a five minute major for fighting while Worcester got a two minute minor for roughing. Not sure how that happened.
The next three pictures are a burst capturing Worcester's third goal at 13:31 of the second period. Damn it.
I told myself I was only going to post a couple of pictures, so I'm stopping here before things get out of control.
Leaf Peeping pictures to follow...
