Is it me?
Two years ago, Jen and I came out to San Diego for a week's worth of honeymoonin'. The whole week we were here, in early June, the weather was chilly and cloudy and about as un-beach as you can picture Southern California getting.
This morning we decided we were going to go to the beach. We got all of our stuff together, put on our bathing suits, and headed outside...
Where we found the weather to be a crisp 63 degrees with full cloud cover and a nice juicy fog. The weather channel app told us that the sky would be clear beginning sometime in the 10:00 hour. It was about 9:00 at the time.
We decided to go to Point Loma before going to the beach in the hopes that the weather would clear while we were at the light house or the tide pools. Nope. By 11:30 the fog was gone, but the clouds were still very thick. We decided to head over to Mission Beach for lunch in the hopes that the sun would break through in the early afternoon.
Negative, again. After lunch we said screw it and just walked onto the beach. The weather never really broke, but the ocean was an absolute blast. The waves were HUGE (by New England, Atlantic coast standards) and the water was almost warm. We had a great time.
Oh, and the sun? It came out as we were leaving the beach.
Is anyone surprised?
I'm not.
