A few weeks after coming home from the most mega-massive vacation trip ever, we went on an over night drive to Old Orchard Beach, ME and followed that with a visit to another beach in Nahant, MA.
Trip wise, this is already the summer of all summers.
But where should we go next?
This weekend I am playing with my old band at a party. The next weekend we are babysitting my nephew and my niece. The weekend after that... ummm... I don't know. Our google calendars have fallen slightly out of date. I assume at some point in the coming months the Mrs and I will be ready to go on another trip. Most likely a day trip.
The obvious choices are another Atlantic ocean spot (although the Pacific is still calling to both of us) or back to the mountains. I mentioned during our stop at Point Loma in San Diego that despite living in New England where there is a light house on just about every street corner, I had never been to an actual real light house before. (the old seafood restaurant in Tewksbury included) Maybe we could go light house hopping? We also once talked about going to look for waterfalls in Eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire. That could be fun as well. Then there are those white mountains just to the north of us. We went up there for a couple of short trips over the fall to look at the foliage, but now we could go to look at the waterfalls and the flumes and fun stuff like that. There is also geocaching, which we've both expressed an interest in trying out. Now that we have a real GPS system to go along with our iPhones that should be easy to do, and lots of fun as well.
What other ideas are there? We don't want to spend a lot of money, so anything more than a day trip is probably out. Also, as attractive as the idea is, a big city trip, like a return to New York, is probably not a great idea just because we'd spend all of our money on three card monty and fake rolexes.
So if you're out there reading this and you have an idea of something inexpensive we could do for a day or so in Eastern, MA, Southern, NH, or Southern, ME please leave me a comment and we'll consider it. If you don't have any ideas please leave a comment and we'll consider that too.
Thanks everyone.
